Today I drove Mel to her appointment at Burton Hospital, where she had a colonoscopy procedure.
Nurse Kelly Mel may have bowel cancer, and took 8 samples, to be sent away for testing (a biopsy). Nurse Kelly said at this stage they are going to assume it is cancer, instead of waiting for the results, and book Mel in for a CT scan, to see if the cancer has spread anywhere else.
Nurse Kelly also said Mel will probably need surgery. Then, depending on the outcome, maybe further treatment after.
Nurse Lisa comforted us both, while we were given this news.
