Today Mel had an appointment to see Mr Vakis, who is Mel’s surgeon. We went to the hospital in Burton, parking was a challenge.
Mr Vakis confirmed Mel has bowel cancer. This has been caught early, and can be operated on. Mr Vankis explained he will remove this part of the bowel, then join the remaining part of the bowel.
Mr Vakis said he will try to do this via keyhole surgery, but it’s likely he’ll be able to. He also said that Mel may not need chemo, although he’ll know more during surgery.
